Tales from the Front - A bit of everything

Hey all,

So, its a been a busy couple weeks at the cave but lots of info to pass along, and more to come soon. The Podcast got the green light, but with a slight modification. I was going to have a co-host, but, due to technical difficulties, that won't work. So, its going to be just me, but I will have a special guest every week, and the show starts at end of this month. It will be a lot of ranting, a lot of laughing, and a lot of good info. Stay tuned.

First - got in the first race of the season yesterday, an indoor Du, and got the overall win. I was extremely happy with the performance, considering I did it on tired legs, preparing for long course in 2 weeks. What made it special were the volunteers, the staff who puts on an incredible event, especially Debbie Graham, the race director, who puts up with all the athletes and our stupid questions and requests, always accomodating, always with a smile. And the fact that my sister and 2 nieces showed up to cheer me on, well, that still has me smiling. Watching them laugh and make faces at me was a treat, and moments I really cherish.

I also had a chance to speak with one of my sponsors this past week who helped me gain some true awareness to the need for a more green environment. I originally reached out to Gobie H2O b/c I was intrigued with what they do and how they do it. I was truly honored that they chose to sponsor me so it gave me the desire to dig deeper to find out the scope and reach of their products. On Friday, I had a pretty amazing conversation with Ari, one of the principals of Gobie. and was really inspired by his story. Gobie is a company, based on belief and faith, a true start up, and one that has been a labor of love for all those involved. At the core is their desire to do something I find admirable and strive for personally - the want to change the world.

I know most of you who are close to me are probably stunned to read me writing like this - considering I haven't always been the most eco-friendly guy in the world. I've also been known to call good people like my sister a "tree hugging hippy socialist", but I do believe in the need for clean water all over the world. So, here's the link to the people who are on the forefront of change - enjoy.
